Here's a bit of information you may find useful. If you have any questions please send me an email: info@emilyfgphotography.co.uk
If you need to contact me on the day you can call or text me on: 07462 664774. Please try not to arrive more than 10 minutes before your scheduled shoot time.
In General
- Organise and try on your clothes at least a week before your session to make sure you feel comfortable in them, if something doesn't fit or isn't feeling right you have time to find an alternative. Same goes with different hair styles - practice them before you arrive.
-If you've bought something specifically for the shoot, it might be worth leaving the label in and taking it back afterwards (you'll only be wearing it for about 10 minutes!)
-Try to drink plenty of water on the week leading up to the shoot, it will do wonders for your skin!
- Try to get a good nights sleep the night (or a few nights) before your shoot.
- Have a think about any music you'd like to play during your session - or be prepared to listen to my eclectic taste in music!
- This is just a guide, if your agent has asked for something different (ie no make up, no patterned clothes etc) please follow their guidance.
Clothing
-Patterns; this is a preference thing, I like them so don’t avoid bringing them.
-Colour; please bring neutral colours and bold ones too. Perhaps a top that is the same colour as your eyes if you have one, the more tops the better.
-A variety of necklines is always useful and a mixture of jumpers/shirts/t-shirts etc.
-Layers can work well - think light jackets/shirt-jacket, denim, leather etc
-Some actors like to have shots that show different character types eg, gritty, period drama, commercial etc…if this is the case for you, bring clothes that will help us portray this. If this isn’t you, bring things that represent the different sides of you - clothes you feel comfortable in.
-Bring more than you think you’ll need - it’s always good to have back ups, I can help you decide on the day.
-In most cases, we’ll only see the top half so don’t worry so much about what’s on your bottom half.
-I want to see YOU so bring clothing that represents this, clothes you feel great in!
Hair (if applicable)
We will have time for different hairstyles. If you’re wanting to change your hairstyle during the shoot (eg, if you have longer hair you might want to tie it back etc) then please bring what you need to do this, bobbles, clips, headbands, gel. There is a curling wand and straighteners at the studio but you may wish to bring your own for ease of use.
Facial Hair (if applicable)
Please feel free to bring your beard trimmer along if you would like shots with/without facial hair.
Make Up (if applicable)
Adults please wear as much or as little make up as you would usually wear. Natural is good - we can build it towards the end if you want a more made up look. Teenagers - subtle (light mascara, concealer and a bit of blush) or no make up please. Children aged 12 and under - as a general rule no make up, it's really important that you don't look older than you are. Any blemishes or dark circles will be removed during editing - it's a lot easier to edit a blemish that you haven't tried to hide with make up.
Payment
By now you with have paid the deposit, thank you! The remaining balance is due the day before the shoot. You will receive an automated email with a link to your invoice for the remaining balance the day before the shoot date. If you'd prefer to pay in cash you can do this on the day but please let me know by email that this is what you indent to do. Please also have the correct amount as I don't carry cash to give you change.
After the Shoot
I’ll go through all of the photos and delete any blinks. Usually within 1 working day I’ll send you a link to your online web gallery where you will be able to view all the photos from your session and make a shortlist. I aim to get the finished shots back to you within 7 working days, although during busy periods this could be up to 10 working days. Unless otherwise stated, additional shots are £15 per image. Extra edits will need to be paid for before they are added to my editing list. Please return your edit selection within 3 months of your shoot, outside this timeframe, I am unable to guarantee the usual 7 to 10 working day turnaround. Please note all digital contact sheets are proofs only and should not be published online on any kind of social media or networking account.
How will you edit my shots?
Important: I am a natural editor not a beauty editor. I believe a casting director or client has to recognise you when you walk into the room. Natural editing includes removing any dark circles, blemishes or stray hairs, brighting the eyes, bringing back the colour to your face if the light has washed you out, and colour balancing the photos. My editing does not include things like changing the colour of your hair or root touch ups, lengthening eyelashes or filling eyebrows. Please note that during busy periods, images may be outsourced for editing, but are always checked by me before being sent back to you.
